Year 3
Establishing Core Foundations
Year 3 marks the beginning of our intensive preparation journey. The primary goal is to build a rock-solid foundation in core English and Mathematics. We focus on establishing foundational literacy, advanced comprehension techniques, and mathematical fluency, ensuring no gaps appear before the more complex content arrives. This early start instills crucial study habits, fostering curiosity and resilience. By developing these core competencies early, students gain a significant advantage, making the transition to formal 11+ and SATS preparation in later years smoother and less stressful.
Year 4
Consolidation and Concept Mastery
Building upon the skills established in Year 3, our Year 4 program is all about consolidation and expanding the curriculum breadth. We deepen understanding of complex topics, introduce the critical elements of Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and significantly increase the pace of learning. The curriculum is strategically aligned with both the challenging demands of the 11+ exam syllabus and the required knowledge base for future SATS tests. This is the year where students transition from passive learning to active problem-solving, equipping them with the conceptual mastery needed for high-stakes testing.
Year 5
Critical Revision and Exam Mastery
Year 5 is the most crucial year for selective school entry. Our tuition shifts to high-intensity, targeted preparation focused entirely on final revision for the 11+ and competitive entrance exams. This includes extensive timed practice papers, dedicated technique workshops for Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and advanced application of English and Maths knowledge under pressure. We focus heavily on exam strategy, time management, and bolstering confidence. By simulating real exam conditions, we eliminate surprises and ensure your child is sharp, confident, and ready to perform at their absolute best when the exams arrive.
Year 6
SATS Success and Secondary Transition
Once the entrance exams are complete, the focus shifts to ensuring a brilliant conclusion to primary school and a seamless transition to secondary education. Our Year 6 course concentrates on SATS preparation, securing the highest possible achievement levels in these national curriculum assessments. More importantly, we also incorporate a Secondary School Readiness program. This bridges the gap between the primary and secondary curriculum, covering advanced topics and study skills (like effective note-taking and organisation) that provide a massive head start, allowing them to step into their new school with confidence and academic momentum.
